Jellico participated in armistice negotiations with Cardassian Union in 2367. In 2369, took command of U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D on stardate 46358.1 on orders of Admiral Alynna Nechayev. Opened negotiations regarding disputed border territories with Cardassian representative Gul Lemec. Talks broke off when Jellico learned of Captain Jean-Luc PicardΓÇÖs capture by Cardassians while on a covert mission. After discovering a build-up of Cardassian forces in the McAllister C-5 Nebula, apparently preparing to attack the Minos Korva sector, Jellico was able to force an agreement that included the release of Picard. Jellico relieved of Enterprise-D command and returned to U.S.S. Cairo. In 2371, assigned command of station Deep Space Five.
